Imperial Palace Weekend

Last summer,  our family spent a weekend at Imperial Palace Mactan.  Imperial Palace is one of the newest resorts in the famed Mactan Island.  The Korean venture boasts of a water park that can make your stay a fun-filled event.  The park has slides where children and the young at heart can truly enjoy a holiday by the beach.

The water park is designed by Dream Park International.  The resort has 5 themed pools:
1. The Beach Pool - this is the main pool and it has a small "island" in the middle where a bar is located.
2. Wave Rider - is a wave pool where you can have enjoy wading through waves of "un-salty" water.
3. Amazon Lazy River allows guests to travel around a running "river". Guests can use inflatable tube to float around the resort.
4. Captain Hook's Pool  is the kiddie pool that allows children to fantasize as pirates.
5. Slides- the resort has 3 slides and it's most famous is the Space Bowl. This slide allows you to slide from a very high location and you will end up bowl where the water is swirling and will spin you before falling for another 6 feet.
The resort has ample lifeguards and safety is a priority.
You can also go to the sea and take a dip.  Water sports equipment is also available.
The rooms are quiet spacious and the resort  has 8 restaurants to choose from.

We really enjoyed our stay and had great fun taking pictures and swimming at the pool.  We are looking forward to our next visit soon.

Fun Runs Fun Runs Fun Runs

I wanted to lose weight and I guess running is the "cheapest" exercise. I decided to invite some friends and join some fun runs.

First fun run: Glamour Run by STC Batch 87
Date: September 19, 2010
Categories: 1.5K Glam Category - where participants dress up and have make up stations in lieu of water stations.
3K
5K
10K
Entrance Fee: 250
Freebies: Singlet, Certificates, Snacks (meat roll and hotdog), shampoo
It was our first run in years and we were just practically jogging and walking in our 3k. It was fun though and we wanted to do it more often.  After the run, we had a BIG breakfast in Pancake House Ayala.

Fun Run 2: World Heart Day Run
Organizer: Philippine Heart Association - Cebu Chapter
Date: September 26, 2010
Fee: 250
What I got: Singlet, water bottle, snacks
The red singlets were nice and the gang wasn't complete because Lee and Jess did not make it. We still decide to do 3k since we have to work at Parkmall after the run.

3rd Run: Pink October Run, Ayala Terraces Cebu
Date: October 3, 2010
To celebrate the Breast Cancer Awareness month, Ayala Center sponsored a run along with several organizations
Fee: 250
What we got: A cool Singlet, Banana book pictures, snacks, milo, iced tea
It was a fantastic run. Leah, Tarah and their boyfriends joined the running group. We even saw Mama, Papa, and Maikee at the run.  We look forward to a bigger group in the next runs.
