Another Super Typhoon is on its way....
Just weeks after parts of the country was devastated by a strong earthquake, a super typhoon is set to make landfall in the country days from now. Way back in December, this blog had an article about preparing for Super Typhoon Pablo, which was supposed to pass Cebu but changed course and it still became the most destructive typhoon in Philippine history.
Based on this list, six of the ten most costly typhoons came in the last 5 years. Super Typhoon Yolanda (international code: Haiyan) is coming and it could potentially make this list as it is expected to cross the central part of the country. It is time for everyone to prepare while it is early.

I would like to add these tips:
1. Load up your prepaid phones. How can you contact or call anyone if you do not have load. If possible, load unliText.
2. Secure important papers and documents.
3. Have an emergency cash. You have to withdraw money this early because there will be a chance that power will be cut off and you cannot use the ATMs anymore.
Let us hope and pray that typhoon will not cause so much damage or loss of life. It's always better to prepare this early and we have to spread the word. Initial forecasts say that the super typhoon will not make landfall in Cebu but typhoons are unpredictable and its course could change in a few hours. Last year, many thought Super Typhoon Pablo will just affect the Visayas but instead it devastated Mindanao, where most people were unprepared for its wrath making it the costliest typhoon in history. Pablo caused the death of 1,146 people. Super typhoons should be taken seriously and early preparation is a must.
